📷 RCPD: Two arrested in connections with fentanyl distribution

MANHATTAN - On Wednesday, May 29th, just after 6:00 p.m., officers with the Riley County Police Department and members of the Geary County Sheriff's Office, investigated the allegation of illegal substance, more specifically, fentanyl, distribution in the 1500 block of Houston Street in Manhattan.

Thirty-five year old, Catrien Van Petten, of Manhattan, was arrested on probable cause offenses of possession of paraphernalia with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance, use/possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body, distribution of opiates/narcotics/certain stimulants/heroin dose > 1000 within 1000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana- two or more prior convictions, and distribution of opiate/narcotic/ certain stimulant/ heroin 3.5 - < 100 grams within 1000 feet of a school.

Van Petten in confined to the Riley County Jail on a bond of $100,000.

Thirty-four year old, Nathan McClurg, of Tipton Kansas was arrested in the 1500 block of Colorado Street in connection with the investigation.

McClurg was arrested on probable cause offenses of possession of opiate/opium/narcotic/ certain stimulant, possession of marijuana- 1 prior conviction, use/possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body, possession of paraphernalia with the intent to manufacture controlled substance, and distribution of opiate/narcotic/certain stimulant/ heroin dose > 1000 within 1000 feet of a school.

McClurg is also confined to the Riley County Jail on a bond of $100,000.

In their media release, RCPD thanked Geary County Sheriff's Office for the use of their K9 in assisting with this investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing in this incident.
