🎥: Heat lamp fire causes $200K damage, destroys chicken coop, damages house in Ogden

OGDEN - Around noon on Tuesday, October 18th, fire crews were dispatched to a house fire in the 200 block of William Drive in Ogden.

Manhattan Fire Department arrived on scene first, followed by volunteers with Riley County Fire District #1, and found a chicken coop on fire, and the fire had spread to the outer wall of the house.

Crews had the fire under control within 15 minutes, and spent additional time making sure fire had not spread into the attic and extinguishing any hot spots.

There were no injuries reported, however, one chicken died as a result of the fire, several chickens escaped unharmed.

Fifteen firefighters from Riley County Fire District #1 and eight firefighters from Manhattan Fire Department responded to the fire.

The home sustained major smoke damage as well as significant fire damage to two rooms. The preliminary damage estimate is $200,000 to the structure and contents

Riley County EMS and Riley County Police Department were on scene as mutual aid.
