Doris Mae Givens, age 95, of Manhattan, died November 24, 2022, at Honstead House – Meadowlark Hills.
She was born March 10, 1927, in Manhattan, the daughter of Thomas O. and Gladys M. (Howenstine) McClung. Both preceded her in death.
Doris was married to Jay Edwin Givens on October 5, 1947, in Manhattan. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1989.
Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts and decorating. She assisted with establishing a federation for the mentally retarded in Manhattan, Kansas.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Givens of Manhattan, and her step-daughter Faith Rupp of Tucson, AZ.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter Virginia Beth Givens on June 21, 2002, and by her older sister Betty Lovell and her younger brother Thomas McClung.
