Manhattan man hospitalized after 2-vehicle crash

SALINE COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 10a.m. Saturday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway reported a 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by John Eric Hawk, 56, Lindsborg, was northbound on Interstate 135 just  south of Sundgren Road.

The vehicle traveled over an icy patch and the driver lost control. The Toyota traveled through the median into the southbound lane of traffic, and spun.

A 2017 Nissan Rogue driven by Alexia Yerton, 21, Manhattan, impacted the driver side door of the Toyota.

EMS transported Hawk to the hospital in Salina and Yerton to a Wichita hospital. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
