DICKINSON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 3p.m. Sunday in Dickinson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Jianna Passeriello, 29, Ladson, South Carolina, was eastbound on Interstate 70 seven miles west of Abilene. The driver was distracted and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV crossed the center median, entered the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 and struck a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer driven by Chelsey G. Raab, 29, Abilene.
EMS transported Raab and an 8-year-old passenger in the Mitsubishi to Salina Regional Health Center. An 11-year-old in the Mitsubishi had a minor injury and was not transported. Passeriello was not injured. All four were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
