RILEY COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 5p.m. Monday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Mazda 3 driven by Nathan Patrick Grindle, 47, Manhattan, was eastbound on Kansas 18 seven miles west of Manhattan.
The car traveled off the right edge of the roadway and struck a cement bridge pillar.
Grindle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

OGDEN - Just before 5:15 pm, Monday, September 4th, RCPD shared via social media a fatality crash had occurred on K-18(Fort Riley Boulevard) near Ogden, which has caused law enforcement to shutdown the highway to allow emergency crews to safely work the crash scene.
RCPD has also closed Exit 303 from Interstate 70 onto K-18 while crews work the crash.
