Richard L. Bell, 91, of Junction City, formerly of Denison, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan. He was the owner of Bell Mobil and Wrecker Service in Richardson, Texas, for over 40 years.
Richard was born in Osborne, Kansas, on September 6, 1931. He was the son of the late Floyd Logan and Zelma Diane (Coppock) Bell. He attended and graduated from the Downs High School in Downs, Kansas. He was the husband of Evelyn (Darcangelo) Bell, they were married on Aug. 15, 1953, in Quantico, Virginia. He served in the U.S. Marines as a 1st Lt. during the Korean War. As he and Evelyn traveled for his jobs, they fell in love with the Richardson, Texas, area and made it "their home." Richard enjoyed the outdoors, which allowed him to be an Assistant Boy Scout Leader of BSA Troop 720.
Richard is survived by his wife Evelyn of their home; two daughters, Julie M. Bell (T. Bryan Darrah), of Junction City; Vikki Potts, of Prosper, TX; a son, Kenneth E. Bell, of San Marcos, TX; a sister, Joann Bell, of Topeka; a brother, Larry Lee, widower of Lois Bell, of Me'Rida, Yucatán, Mexico; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Richard F. Bell & Mark A. Bell.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the donor's choice. Arrangements with Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, Manhattan.
