Nila Jean Parks, age 88, of Manhattan, died January 12, 2024, at Meadowlark Hills – Sloan House.
She was born May 18, 1935, in Fostoria, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Gladys (Ephramson) Webster.
Nila graduated from Westmoreland High School and attended business college in Topeka for one year.
She was married to Arvid Cutright, they later divorced. She later married James Parks, he preceded her in death.
Nila worked at Farrell Library at Kansas State University for more than 20 years.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Rebekkah Lodge. She attended Zeandale Community Church and was awarded the Eagles Member of the Year Award.
Nila loved to travel and enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Survivors include two children: James Cutright of Manhattan, and Joan Baughman and her husband Cliff of Wamego; five grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
Nila was also preceded in death by her son Steven Cutright and by three siblings: Donna Burkman, Dale and LeRoy Webster.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 26th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wesley Paddock officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Olsburg Cemetery next to James.
The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502, is assisting the family with arrangements.
