Linda R. Charowhas, 80, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Gnanasekar Kulandi officiating. The rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home with a visitation from 6-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to St. Xavier Catholic Church, 218 N. Washington St., Junction City, KS 66441.
Linda was born August 28, 1941, in Wellsville, NY the daughter of John and Lillian (Keyuk) Scott.
Linda was an active parishioner of St. Xavier Catholic Church where she was a long time member of the Tuesday night rosary group and the Living Water Ministry. She spent a lot of time volunteering and visiting many care facilities in Junction City and Manhattan where she would sing, visit and pray with the residents. Her family and faith was very important to her.
She married Peter A. Charowhas in October of 1963. He passed away March 17, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Peter A. Charowhas of Ellsworth, KS and Michael A. Charowhas of Junction City, KS; one daughter, Kimberly A. Bergmann and husband David of Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren, Sailor, Ava, Jade, Garrett, Blake and Jensen; one brother, Michael White; three sisters, Betty, Carol and Donna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Peter; granddaughter, Sierra; daughter-in-law, Candy Charowhas; one brother, William Scott.
