Darrell W. Wiley, 85, of Chapman, Kansas passed away March 15, 2022 at Geary Community Hospital. He was born September 14, 1936 in Solomon, Kansas, the son of Harry and Mildred (Watt) Wiley.

He enlisted in the United States Army after high school, serving 3 years stationed in Germany. Darrell earned his Masters Degree at Kansas State University. On February 4, 1961 he was united in marriage to Lucille Holt. Darrell worked at the Kansas State University in the faculty departments and later worked as the food service director for Wichita public schools. Darrell and Lucille bought a farm house outside of Chapman where he farmed. He was involved in the Navarre and Chapman Lion’s Club, COOP Board at Navarre, Chapman United Methodist Church, Chapman councilman, President of the Chapman Community Foundation, 4-H leader and coached little league baseball.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife Lucille of the home. Three daughters: Kelly (Dave) Wendt of Hope; Toni (Shane) Britt of Gardner and Amy (Gary) Coup of Herington. One son, Darin (Stacia) Wiley of Abilene. Nine grandchildren: Paul (Heather) Stackley; Brooke (Ryan) Cooey; Ethan (Kaitlin) Britt; Brogan (Jon) Griffith; Sgt. Carina (Patricia) Coup; MaKayla Coup; Brett Coup; Tori Foy; Jaxon Foy, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. The family has chosen cremation.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Chapman United Methodist Church. Family suggests memorials be given to the Dickinson County Home Health or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
