RILEY COUNTY - On Thursday, March 2nd at just before 3:00 p.m., officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested a 34-year-old Manhattan man in connection with a February 11th hit and run that injured a pedestrian.
Kristopher Scott Mackey, 34 of Manhattan, was arrested on requested charges of Interference with LEO; Falsely report a felony, intending to obstruct; Interference with LEO; Conceal/alter/destroy evidence in felony case; and Failure to stop at accident; Result in great bodily harm.
On February 11th, RCPD officers were called to the 4700 block of Skyway Drive around 9:30 p.m. after a 30-year-old man was found on the side of the road with injuries consistent with being hit by a moving vehicle.
The victim was initially transported to Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan and was later taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of his injuries.
Mackey remains confined to the Riley County Jail in lieu of bond pending his first appearance in Riley County District Court.
