Furniture Amnesty Day in Manhattan is an annual event that allows local residents to donate furniture they no longer need so others can select from the donated goods for free. It is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday, July 30.
According to the City the event helps find new homes for hundreds of pieces of furniture. Volunteers are needed to help with several aspects of the event. Sign up with Hands On K-State here.
Volunteers will pick up furniture donations of up to five items within Manhattan City limits if signed up. The deadline to sign up for this service is Wednesday, July 28.
If you were unable to sign up, you can drop off your donations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Baker Field parking lot in City Park on July 30.
