On November 14, 2023, the angels came to take our dear Granny back to her husband and daughter. Doris passed away peacefully with her youngest daughter by her side at 2:45 in the morning.
She was the daughter of Rachel and George Colson, and predeceased by her daughter Connie Chabira, and her husband Donald Kimble. Doris leaves behind her children Colleen Cain (Gilbert), Donald Kimble Jr, and Carol Barham (James). Four grandchildren, Troy, Adam, Rachel, and Miles, seven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Call her grandma or mama, she lovingly referred to everyone as “kid.’
Everyone who met Doris loved her. Even after losing her husband and moving across state lines to be near her girls, she made new friends everywhere she went and always kept the old ones close. She was a very talented seamstress, quilter, and cook. She was a passionate game player whether it be cards, bingo, or board games, and later in life loved to puzzle. Doris was filled with love, light, and laughter. A devoted believer, she was always an active church member as long as she was able. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband of over 50 years in a private service.
