Terence Joseph McGhee, age 87, died on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Manhattan, Kansas.
Terry grew up in New Jersey as one of ten children of Terence and Teresa (Soden) McGhee. He lived in many places over the course of his life, from Kansas, to Nebraska, to New Orleans, to Pennsylvania, to Florida, and he also worked and traveled extensively in Latin America. He worked as a professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska, Tulane University, and Lafayette College. He was the rare engineer who loved language, and he could finish the most difficult New York Times crossword puzzles in ink.
His wife, Diane Dodson McGhee, died in 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret McGhee, of Manhattan, Kansas.
