Marjorie Frances Schlegel, 94, Meadowlark Retirement Community passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at her home.
She was born December 16, 1929 to Florence and Gerald Noll of Flush, Kansas. She lived in Flush until high school graduation and then moved to Manhattan, Kansas to start a job at Icey Way. She remained a Manhattan resident the rest of her life. She was united in marriage to William Alfred Schegel on June 21, 1950. She was a member of Seven Dolors Parish and volunteered many years at the budget shop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 siblings, Robert Noll, Kenneth Noll, and Partricia Heptig, 3 children, Shirley Neel, Matthew Schlegel, and Terry Schlegel, 3 grandchildren, William Neel, Sean Neel, and Misty Schlegel, and 2 great grandchildren, Owen DeMars and Fayelle Hutchison.
She is survived by one son, Andy Schlegel (Jeanie), of Topeka, Kansas, and one daughter, Teresa McMillan (Kurt), Home, Kansas, one son in law, James (Pat) Neel, Wamego, 25 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. with Rosary at 9 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church Manhattan, Kansas. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 26 from 2-7 p.m. at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and 9-10 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Flush, Kansas following the service.
