Marion Rex Fuller, the son of Kenneth and Elisabeth Trott Fuller, was born on March 15, 1938 in Miltonvale, Kansas. He entered his heavenly home from Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, Kansas on January 9th, 2022 at the age of 83. Rex graduated from Miltonvale Rural High School in 1956 and from Miltonvale Wesleyan College in 1958 with an Associate of Arts degree. He received a Bachelors and Masters Degree at Emporia State Teachers College, Emporia, Kansas. He also received his Doctorate in School Administration from the University of Kansas and a Doctorate of Theology Degree from Salt Lake Baptist College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
During his Freshman year at Miltonvale Wesleyan College, Coach Ashby witnessed to Rex. He recognized his need of Jesus as his Saviour and he called upon Christ to save him from his sins. This was a major turning point in Rex’s life.
Rex was united in marriage to Charlotte Beals on November 26, 1958 at Miltonvale Wesleyan Church. God blessed their union with two children, Edwin Rex and Lucinda Sybil.
Rex taught 7th & 8th grade and served as Principal at Delphos Public School in Delphos, Kansas. After moving to Salina, he was a teacher in Hageman Elementary School and became the Principal of Bartlett and Franklin Elementary Schools before becoming the Principal of the much larger Housner Elementary School. To further his education, Rex moved his family closer to the University of Kansas where he was the Director of the Reading & Studies Lab. After graduation from KU, he accepted the position of Director of PSI, a Federally funded program based in Conway Springs, Kansas. In 1973, he moved his family to Bonner Springs, Kansas where he helped 5 Churches start Christian schools in the Kansas City area and became their Superintendent. At the same time, he became the State Coordinator for Accelerated Christian Education in the states of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, & Missouri. Later his area would also include, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, & Wyoming. In 1981, Rex and Charlotte moved to Ohio to work as Vice President of the Christian Law Association. Feeling God’s leadership to return to Kansas, in 1986, he became the School Administrator of South Knollwood Baptist School, Topeka, Kansas. In 1992, he moved to Miltonvale working & traveling for Accelerated Christian Education. During his time as Coordinator of ACE, he helped start over 200 Christian Schools throughout his regions. He accepted the Pastorate of Grace Baptist Church in Washington, Kansas and was ordained in 2000. In 2007, he and Charlotte took the Pastorate at Faith Baptist Church in Concordia, Kansas, until 2013. After retiring for health reasons, Rex filled the pulpits for Pastors. In 2014, he once again became the Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Washington. While fulfilling that responsibility, he accepted the position of President of National Association of Private Schools, Oklahoma City, OK. He also accepted the position of Hospice Chaplain for Meadowlark Hospice of Clay Center, KS.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edwin Rex Fuller, his parents Kenneth and Elisabeth Fuller, and his sister Aileen Trussell.
He leaves his wife Charlotte of 63 years of the home, his daughter, Lucinda Metsinger, her husband Kevin Metsinger of Shawnee, KS and his daughter-in-law, Sandra Fuller of Bonner Springs, KS. 6 grandchildren, Jeremiah Metsinger, Shaleena Quinlan, Sharlotte Swisher, Benjamin Metsinger, Spencer Fuller and Nathan Metsinger, and 14 great grandchildren, Noah Metsinger, Haddon Metsinger, Silas Metsinger, Weston Swisher, Cody Metsinger, Paisley Metsinger, Madeline Metsinger, Reagan Metsinger, Avonlea Metsinger, Remington Metsinger, Atlas Quinlan, Hudson Metsinger, Magnolia Fuller, and Benelli Metsinger. 2 brothers Ken Jay, wife Janet Fuller and Norman, wife Denise Fuller of Miltonvale, KS. Many nephews, nieces and cousins.
