During their meeting on Monday Riley County Commissioners are scheduled to receive request to fill two positions at the Riley County Library. One is that of the Curator of Archives and Library which is due to a planned retirement with the vacancy occurring on October 1, 2024. The other, an As-Needed Museum Assistant, is a current vacancy as the result of a resignation as of July 31, 2024.
Linda Glasgow has served the County Museum for nearly thirty-two years, currently holding the position of Curator of Archives and Library. She has announced her retirement date of October 1, 2024. This will leave a vacancy of an essential and specialized archival collections management role.
The second vacancy is that of an As-Needed Museum Assistant. Museum Assistants are essential in the public facing operations at the Museum. They greet visitors, provide tours, serve as docents, assist in educational and outreach programs, keep the facilities looking tidy, and assist the curators with a variety of research and collections support.
The county commission is in session at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Commission chambers at 115 N. 4th St.
