Carol Jean Grauerholz Jacobs, 77, of Smith Center, Kansas passed away
peacefully on April 21, 2022, surrounded by family after a long battle
with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia at Smith County Memorial Hospital,
Smith Center.
She was born on April 23, 1944 in Kensington, Kansas, the daughter
of Louie and Zelma Diercks Grauerholz. She was baptized on May 21, 1944
and confirmed on March 22, 1959 at St. John Lutheran Church in
Kensington. Carol grew up in Kensington, Kansas and graduated from
Kensington High School in 1962.
On September 23, 1962, Carol and Doug Terrill were united in
marriage at St. John Lutheran Church in Kensington. They were blessed
with two boys, John and Jay.
On September 15, 1979, Carol and Kenneth Jacobs were united in
marriage at American Lutheran Church in Smith Center. They were blessed
with one boy, Michael.
Carol worked at various bookkeeping jobs throughout her working
life. After moving to Smith Center in 1972, she started working at
Boogaarts grocery store. Later on, she worked at Smith County Implement
and served as the financial secretary at the American Lutheran Church
for many years.
Carol enjoyed all of her grandkids activities as they grew up. She
also was very active in the American Lutheran Church. Also, she was a
big sports fan, following all of the local sports teams. She always
knew what games were next to watch on TV, keeping a list of games handy
so she didn’t miss any of her teams to watch.
Carol is survived by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth of the home.

and Michael Jacobs of Smith Center, KS. Grandchildren, Trenton (Kari)
of Manhattan, KS, Kale and fiancé, Olivia Ohm, of Manhattan, KS, Raegan
and Addisyn Terrill of Manhattan, KS, Beckett and Braelyn Terrill of
Wamego, KS, Kaylyn (Brell) Spiess of Mankato, KS and Caden and
Kristopher Jacobs of Smith Center; brother Doc (Bev) Grauerholz of
Kensington; sister Marjorie Conrad of Gaylord..
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Louie and Zelma
Grauerholz and brother-in-laws Dean Jacobs, Gale Cook and Lawrence
Conrad.
