RILEY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 7a.m. Sunday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Volvo semi driven by Sukhrob Rakhimov, 25, Powell, Ohio, was westbound on Interstate 70 three miles west of Tallgrass Road. The semi rear-ended a 2016 Jeep Patriot driven by Elijah Isaiah Daniels, 26, Fort Riley, who had stopped on the highway.
EMS transported Daniels to Via Christi in Manhattan. The semi driver was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
