Darrell Dennis Goss

Darrell Dennis Goss, 84, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home in Finney County. He was born on August 6, 1937, at Garden City the son of Dennis Clarence & Lena Alice (Smith) Goss. He married JoAnn Pearl Curtis on February 16, 1958, at Garden City. She died on July 16, 2018.

Darrell graduated from Garden City High School and stayed on the family farm where he was a lifelong Farmer-Stockman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees and boards. He also was a member of the Kansas Pork Producers Council and had been awarded Pork Producer of the Year and he and his wife had received the Farmers of the Year award from the Soil Conservation Service. Darrell was very involved in 4-H and started the Finney County Livestock Auction 44 years ago and the Pig Spring Show. He also sponsored many 4-h and Extension events. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his flower garden but especially his family activities.

He is survived by his Children- Sheryl Goss of Garden City, Wayne & Gwen Goss of Garden City, Gaylene Trickey of Garden City and Loren & Ashley Goss of Topeka, Brother- Larry & Barbara Goss of Garden City, Sister- Darlene & Doyne Bruner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 11 Grandchildren- Brandon Goss of Garden City, Melanie & Andy Jesse of Pawnee, Illinois, Ryan & Ashley Goss of Garden City, Russell Goss of Riley, Clinton & Abbey Trickey of Manhattan, Weston & Sarah Trickey of Manhattan, Aleah Eatmon of Garden City, Lucas & Kaylee Goss of Garden City, Abbie Oswalt of Lafayette, Louisiana, Kourtney & John Burnett of Manhattan and Hunter Goss of Topeka and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Rev Joel Plisek officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Friday and 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home.
