Lora Ann Shelton, 43, of Fostoria, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lora was born on November 18, 1976 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Keith and Carla (Shrimplin) Pressler. She attended school in many states, but mostly in Wamego, Kansas.
Lora worked as a business manager for Coldwell Banker all the way through her battle with cancer. In her younger years she also worked as a waitress and bartender and for a greenhouse. She was especially close to her grandmother, Stella Pressler, for a time she even lived with Stella to help take care of her.
Lora loved to play softball, go to casinos and play BINGO. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching NASCAR, especially Dale Jr. #88, and Chiefs football. She liked riding on the Harley with Todd participating in various benefit runs. She loved spending time with family and friends. Most importantly Lora loved her family, going to her daughters Volleyball, Basketball, Cheer and Track events; she even coached the teams sometimes. She loved to go on vacations and travel with her family going to the beach and ocean. Lora had a strong belief in her faith.
Lora married Todd Leslie Shelton on June 16, 2001. He survives in their home.
Lora is also survived by her daughters, Shianne and Alyssa Shelton, also of the home; her parents, Keith and Carla Pressler; her grandmother, Loretta Burry; her siblings, Paul (Tracy) Pressler, Eudora, Kansas, Sarah Stueve, Liberty, Missouri; her parents in law, Les and Janice Shelton, Westmoreland; siblings-in-law, Vicki (Gary) Holt, Darla Allen and Allen (Leslie) Shelton, all of Westmoreland; nieces and nephews Johnny, Evan and Kaitlynn Allen and Marcus and Colby Shelton. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Stella Pressler and Richard Shrimplin; her father Larry Stueve and a stillborn son, Todd “TJ” Shelton.
There will be private family services. Lora’s cremated remains will be in-state on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego, for those who would like pay their respects, sign her book and view her slideshow. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lora Shelton Memorial Fund to help with expenses and the girls’ education fund. Those may be sent in care of the funeral home or via Lora’s Fight-Go Fund Me.
