James Warren (Jim, Jimmy) Price, 88, Junction City, KS, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, at his Milford lake-front home. A visitation and Celebration of Life were held Monday and Tuesday at Milford Congregational Church with Pastor Dirk Westerman officiating and music performed by Jim’s son in-law, Jose Garcia. Burial followed the service at Milford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Milford Congregational Church.
James Warren (Jim, Jimmy) Price 88, was born to Irvin Garland and Pauline Alice Price on October 14, 1934, Keyser, West Virginia. He went to be with the Lord Jesus, his parents and siblings, on October 16, 2022 from his Milford lake-front home in Milford, Kansas.
Jim was the son of a military family that traveled a lot in his younger years before settling in Ft. Riley, Kansas, in 1944. He was a graduate of Junction City High School in 1953.
On May 17, 1957, Jim was drafted to serve in the Army overseas in France at the Ammo Depot #7831 for almost two years until May 11, 1959 and remained under reserve status until 1963.
Jim moved with his mother and brother Garland Price to the Los Angeles Area (Encino), California upon his honorable discharge from the Army in 1959.
Jim began his employment as a banker in 1961 at Union Bank in North Hollywood, California and then transitioned into a long-lasting career in banking in 1967 at City National Bank in numerous Los Angeles areas of California. He worked his way up the career ladder at City National Bank by starting as a teller, progressing into Management and even as an Operations Officer until he retired as a Vice President of City National Bank in 1994.
Jim married Sharon Kay Price on May 19, 1962 in North Hollywood, California. Upon Sharon and Jim’s departed and eventually divorced in 1996. Jim moved back to his favorite hometown to join his sister Mary (Susie) Parks were he would spend the rest of his life. Jim lived with his sister Susie for a short while until he met Genevieve (Genny). After a brief courtship with Genny, Jim proposed and they were married in 2001 Milford, Kansas.
Jim held many interests that included automobiles, traveling, camping, BBQing, watching cowboy movies, listening to music including, popular, county, oldies, crooner, and rock and roll. He loved building and maintaining things such as bicycles, model trains, wooden rocking horses, bird houses, mowing lawns and gardening of the beautiful flowers he tended. He loved watching hid grandchildren grow and particularly loved holiday times with the family all together. His favorite spot was in his chair at home viewing Milford Lake from his Livingroom and this is the place where he completed his earthly journey in peace and harmony.
Jim was a Milford Church member and a member of the Lions Club. He served for a few years as the President of the Lions Club in Milford, Kansas.
Survivors include: Wife, Genevieve Dandondson of Milford Kansas; Ex-wife Sharon Kay Price of Los Angeles, California; Son, Brian Fredrick Price of Bishop California, Daughter Sheral Leanne and Frank Hewes of Falls of Rough, Kentucky; Daughter Colleen Gayle and Jose (Joe) Garcia; Step-Daughter Lori and Doug; Step-Son David and wife Kerril Bauerly, Alan and wife Kristen; Grandsons Kenny Hewes and Thomas (Tommy) Hewes; great-grandchildren Mathew, Eliza, Corey, Claire and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his Sister, Mary (Susie) Parks and Brother-in-law John William Parks; nephew Ronald E. Parks of Junction City, KS, his parents Irvin Garland and Pauline Alice Price of West Virginia; and brothers Richard Price of Canoga Park, CA and Garland (Gene) Price of Washington.
