Audrey Elaine (Brownie) Junghans was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 2, 2022.
She was born in Eastern Geary County, KS, to Fred Brown & Louisa Morgan Brown on April 26, 1926, the fourth of their five children. She spent her early years on the family farm and graduated from Alta Vista High School.
Brownie married Roland Norbert Junghans in the summer of 1947, and they made their home on Humboldt Creek, farming and ranching, for many years. Upon selling the farm and moving to Junction City, she worked as a Loan Officer for Central National Bank for 20+ years, where she was well known in the community for her advice and guidance on financial matters. After retiring from the bank, she stayed busy with Real Estate and Property Management, and also held an active role in the management of JJ Marine in Junction City.
Brownie was well loved in her community and known for her positive attitude, amazing fashion sense, quick sense of humor and sassy personality.
She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Roland Junghans and Gary W. Dugan. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Russell Brown and Max Brown, and her sister Donna Lee Olson.
Survivors include her sister Karen Smith of Topeka, KS, her son Mark (Loretta) Junghans of Junction City, her daughter Judith Junghans of Junction City and her four grandchildren: Troy (Kasey) Marcus, Navarre, FL, Josh (Tiffany) Junghans, Milford, KS, Jerod (Ashley) Junghans, Lenexa, KS and Shayna (York) Olszewski, Kansas City, KS and her seven great grandchildren: Lincoln, Logan, Faith, Tyson, Jackson, Kyla and
Pearl, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home, Junction City, KS on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The family will be present at the visitation and will have a private burial at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the First Presbyterian Church.
