Doug Ray, 59, passed away on August 18, 2023. Doug was born March 30, 1964 in Dighton, KS to A. Elroy Ray and Betty (Moody) Kupfersmith.
He Graduated from Marysville High School in 1982. In the past he worked for Beattie Co-op, Union Pacific Railroad, Wertenberger Trucking and K-State Facilities.
Doug was best known for his quiet nature and his mischievous grin. Doug was a jack-of-all trades that enjoyed tinkering with mechanical and carpentry projects and everything in between. He was also an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and spend time outside with his dogs. Most of all Doug enjoyed spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews whom “Uncle Doug” patiently taught many a life lesson. Doug’s selfless dedication to his family and his mischievous grin will be dearly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Betty and Fred Kupfersmith and Jackie Ray; brother-in-law Ed Miller.
He is survived by his father, Elroy, St. Joe, MO; Sisters: Debbie Miller, Marysville, Dorothy (Jerome) Watson, Apple Valley, CA; Diana (Steve) Shropshire, Cartersville, GA and Dodie (Wayne) Ray of Wamego.
Nephews, Dusty, (Jessy); Chris (Dewy); David; Stewart (AnnaMarie). Nieces: Jennifer (Chris), Jessica (Anthony) and Jackie; and several Great Nieces and Nephews.
Doug will be inurned on November 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Holton Cemetery, with his parents, Betty and Fred.
