Beginning Monday, March 30, a section of Hayes Drive just north of Levee Drive will be closed to allow for the installation of a new sanitary sewer main. According to a City of Manhattan release this work is being completed in coordination with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) as part of the ongoing remediation efforts tied to City Water Well 12.
During this time, Hayes Drive will be closed in the designated work area. Traffic will be detoured via Tuttle Creek Boulevard (US-24) to Casement Road and McCall Road to access Hayes Drive around the closure.
Timeline:The estimate is 3-4 weeks to complete this work, depending on the weather.
