 </figure>By Marcia LockeMANHATTAN — Celebrate Kansas State University's fight against cancer with a Fighting for a Cure shirt, and wear it to the home football game, or anywhere, Saturday, Oct. 24, for the seventh annual&nbsp;<a href="http://cancer.k-state.edu/newsevents/FightingForACureShirt.html" target="_blank">K-State Fighting for a Cure Day</a>. Sweatshirts are a new option this year.Join Bill Snyder, the university's former head football coach; Chris Klieman, current head football coach; Eric Stonestreet, Emmy Award-winning actor and alumnus; Kevin Lockett, former K-State and Kansas City Chiefs football player; and many others in wearing a Fighting for a Cure shirt in honor of the K-State family's cancer survivors and researchers. The Pride of Wildcat Land, the Kansas State University Marching Band, will also celebrate by wearing pink ribbons.Fighting for a Cure shirts raise funds and awareness for the&nbsp;<a href="http://cancer.k-state.edu/" target="_blank">Johnson Cancer Research Center</a>, which supports and advances cancer research and education at Kansas State University. Since 2014, shirt sales have raised around $50,000.The current shirts are charcoal gray with a purple Powercat and the phrase "Fighting ever fighting for a cure" in pink and purple. The phrase is inspired by the university's fight song, "Wildcat Victory." The short- and long-sleeve T-shirts, which are made of lightweight, stretchy cotton-polyester, are $25 and $30 respectively. The sweatshirts, which are made of 50-50 preshrunk cotton-polyester air jet yarn, are $32.The shirts are available in Manhattan at 1419 Mercantile, 3039 Anderson Ave., and at the Johnson Cancer Research Center, 1711 Claflin Road. They are also available online at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatefightscancer.com/" target="_blank">kstatefightscancer.com</a>.Supporters are asked to join the Fighting for a Cure social media campaign by posting photos of themselves in the shirt along with the hashtag #HelpKStateFightCancer. Photos from&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=KStateCancerResearch&amp;set=a.10156827410032675" target="_blank">2019</a>&nbsp;and earlier are on the center's&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/KStateCancerResearch/" target="_blank">Facebook page</a>.The programs of the Johnson Cancer Research Center, in the College of Arts and Sciences, are made possible by private donations.
