MANHATTAN, Kan.— Aggieville, in Manhattan, will be the host site for a newly created event this summer. Following a trend from smaller towns across the state, we are hosting an “all years” and “all high schools” inclusive reunion. No matter what year you graduated or from which high school, join us for a weekend of celebration and reunite with friends.
Beginning Friday evening, June 11th, reunion attendees will check-in at their host bar venue that is designated for their decade. From there, they can stay and hang out with friends…listen and dance to music popular when they were in school, or catch the Car Parade and Car Show coming through Aggieville ( 6pm ) and Showing in the parking lot at 12th & Laramie. Get your wristband that designates your decade and wear it all weekend so your “old” friends or classmates are easier to identify.
Saturday, June 12th, the party starts with opening of the venues and closing the streets to vehicle traffic at 11am. Live music begins on 12th Street at noon with the return of a Manhattan favorite, David Oakleaf. A great local party band, Aye Oh, kicks off the music from the Moro stage at 12:30. The day of live music continues until 10pm, with more favorites. Lucas Maddy, Dr. Wayne Goins and the Allstar Blues Band, Big Harry and the Back Alley Blues Band, Jimmy Lewin and the Kingtones, Stewart Ray and the Cassette Tapes, and Slow Burn will entertain alumni all day, and remember the event is FREE, courtesy of our great sponsors. Beer gardens will be open all day in the street or consider bringing a lawn chair.
Classes of 1940-1959 host bar venue is Porter’s, 1960-1979 venue is Johnny Kaw’s Yard Bar, 1980-1989 venue is Kite’s, 1990-1999 venue is Tubby’s, 2000-2009 venue is O’Malley’s, and 2010-2021 venue is 7even8ight5ive. All of these locations are within walking distance from each other.
