Bluemont Avenue turn lane closing for ped crossing work

Posted Oct 11, 2024 9:04 PM

The City of Manhattan has announced that starting Monday, October 14, the right turn lane from Bluemont Avenue onto North Manhattan Avenue will be closed in front of Bluemont Hotel so the pedestrian crossing at the northeast corner of the intersection (in front of the hotel) can be fully replaced.

Right turns still will be possible at the intersection from the northmost eastbound lane.

In addition to closing the eastbound right turn lane on Bluemont, there will be a partial lane closure on northbound North Manhattan Avenue to just north of the intersection.

The pedestrian crossings for both North Manhattan Avenue (north of the intersection) and Bluemont Avenue (east of the intersection) that connect to this northeast corner will be closed, with detours available, for the duration of this work.

Please drive and walk safely in this area, follow signage and look out for City workers.

Expect light to moderate traffic and some delays on Bluemont Avenue and North Manhattan Avenue through this work period, especially for pedestrians crossing.

The estimate is about 1-2 weeks to complete this work, depending on weather.
