Snow removal in Riley County as of Sunday afternoon

Posted Jan 25, 2026 8:58 PM

Snowplow crews report asphalt roads in the county are about 80% clear. Salt treatments and sunshine have helped speed up melting, and the Operations/Fleet Manager estimates plow operations for the county could wrap up as early as 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Cold temperatures will remain, with Monday’s high reaching in the 20's. Refreezing is likely on roads and sidewalks, so please continue to use caution especially during the Monday morning commute. Black ice will likely be a hazard overnight and in the morning

The National Weather Service reports snowfall totals of:

• 6.0 - 8.8 inches in Manhattan

• 7.0 inches in Riley

• 7.2 inches in Randolph
