Eula Jean Weisner, age 93 of Manhattan, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House.
She was born on November 5, 1930, in Leonardville, the daughter of John J. and Freda Victoria (Hanson) Arents.
On August 12, 1950, she married George Kenneth Weisner at her parents’ home. He preceded her in death in 2019.
Jean was a Registered Nurse at Asbury Hospital in Salina, Fort Riley Hospital and completed her nursing career at Pediatric Associates in Manhattan. She attended Westview Community Church and Sedalia Community Church. She enjoyed playing cards at the Manhattan Senior Center, watching football and baseball with her son and in her earlier years, going to the lake and camping, boating, and skiing. George and her loved traveling and spent several winters in Florida.
She is survived by one son, Kevin Weisner of Manhattan; two daughters, Debra Holle of Manhattan and Christine Miller and husband Mason of Manhattan; seven grandchildren, Dustin Holle, Lance Holle (Jennifer), Aaron Holle (Tabatha), Amanda Brubeck (Chris), Chip Miller, Wendy Allison (Tobey) and Scott Miller; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Leonardville City Cemetery.
