RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged auto theft.
Just after 6:30p.m. Wednesday, officers filed a report for theft, criminal trespass, and interference with LEO in the 1100 block of Westport Dr. in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
A 22-year-old woman reported a 36-year-old woman entered her car in the Taco Bell parking lot, locked herself inside and attempted to drive away in an attempt to steal the vehicle.
The estimated total loss associated with this case was approximately $13,000.
The car was returned to its owner after police arrested Andrea Freeman, 36, of Manhattan in connection on requested charges of theft, criminal trespass, and interference with LEO. Freeman remains jailed on a total bond of $6,000, according to the RCPD.
