Sonya Kay Murphy, 67, of Manhattan, Kansas died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas.

Sonya was born December 29, 1955, in Manhattan, Kansas.

Sonya graduated from Manhattan High School with the class of 1973. She went to work in 1985 for Parker Hannifin as a purchasing agent in Manhattan, Kansas. She retired in 2022. 

Sonya participated with the Red Hat Society for many years. She was very active in organizing the class reunions for the class of 1973 at Manhattan High School.

She is survived by her husband Daniel E. Huber of Manhattan, Kansas; two sons, Kevin Murphy and his wife Xuanduy and Derek Pfizenmaier and his companion Jacqui Parker all of Manhattan, Kansas; her mother, Anna M. Gates and two grandsons Easton, Caleb and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her step-father Dell Gates.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will take place December 23, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. at the Sedalia Community Church 6040 N. 52nd Street Manhattan, Kansas. 

Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
