Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 has posted information via social media on an update to the District's pandemic response plan. USD 383 remains committed to safely providing five days per week of in-person instruction throughout the 2021-2022 school year. They also remain committed to monitoring data and community conditions for indicators that they can lessen mitigation measures implemented to offset the threat of Coronavirus.
Updates:
- Visitor Access to BuildingsSchools can begin to allow parents and volunteers into buildings. This should be coordinated with the building principal to keep the number of additional adults in the building to a reasonable number.
- Cafeteria/SnacksSchools can begin to allow a limited number of parents into the building to eat lunch with their student. Each school principal will set a number of daily slots (number will depend on cafeteria size and number of students eating - the number could be different for each building) for parents to eat lunch with their student. Parents must call the school to reserve a slot for lunch by 9am.School meals are free for all students during the 2021-2022 school year. Adults will need to pay for a school lunch meal.Outside food for birthday treats/snacks must be prepackaged for individual servings.
- The Data Dashboard will no longer be updated and published weekly. Percent positive information is no longer available as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has updated their reporting procedures for COVID-19 testing. Labs will no longer be required to report negative test results, only positive results which is the same process used for all other infectious diseases in the United States. Individuals are still entitled to receive the results of their COVID-19 testing, whether they are positive or negative, but only the numbers of positive results will be shared with local and state health departments and the CDC to be included in reporting statistics. The Riley County Health Department will continue to share COVID information (although that format is also different) on their social media accounts and website.
