Wanda Elaine (Carter) Laflin 86, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, in her sleep at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie, KS.
She was born in Clay Center, KS and later moved to Rushville, MO with her family. Wanda married William Laflin and moved to Nickerson, KS, where she was a housewife and mother for many years, then worked as a security guard at Cessna, and as a travelling CNA.
Wanda was the daughter of James and Jessie (Dunavan) Carter of Rushville, MO who preceded her in death, as well as her husband, William, and three siblings, James Carter II, La Forest “Red” Carter, and Marietta Duty.
Wanda is survived by her children, Von Laflin, Wendy Laflin, three grandchildren, Logan Hicks, Aubrey Heckathorn and Troy Laflin as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, December 4, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on, Monday, December 4, 2023, at 10:30AM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, KS
Internment will directly follow services at Timber Creek Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas
