Barbara Perkins, 85, of Westmoreland, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday evening (September 6, 2022) at her home.
Born in Wichita, Kansas and former resident of Nashua, New Hampshire and Seattle, Washington, Barbara was the daughter of Ted and Clara Lee Wilcox. She married Lawrence “Larry” Perkins in 1992 in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
An avid reader, enthusiastic football fan (especially K-State), competitive card player and lifelong Democrat, Barbara will be remembered as a gifted quilter, fantastic storyteller, an excellent cook with a passion for music. She had a strong faith and lived with humility and grace. Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her fun, quirky family. She was truly a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Mary Higgs (Brad); David Lusk; and granddaughter, Kendall Lusk.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; and two sisters, Jo Burgess and Cherlyn Smith.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.
Private family services are planned at a later date.
