Monday storm prospects

Posted Nov 02, 2026 9:34 PM

According to the National Weather Service severe storms could develop this afternoon and continue into the evening. Damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and a few tornadoes will be possible.

Highest risk for severe weather will be in central, northeast and east-central Kansas.

Confidence remains high in showers and storms today into tonight, but slightly lower in the severe potential. Cloud cover and rain through the day could limit the amount of energy storms have that would limit storm intensity. However, even with limited instability, the environment will have plenty of wind shear that would be favorable for damaging wind gusts and a tornado or two.
