According to a social media post from the Diocese of Salina, Father Rafael Indave Campos was arrested over the weekend for alleged driving under the influence. Father Rafael Indave Campos is the Parochial Vicar at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan.
The Geary County Sheriff's Office media arrest report confirms the statement from the Diocese. The arrest report indicates Fr. Rafael Indave Campos was booked into the Geary County Detention Center just before 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, for "driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs." As of Monday afternoon, he is no longer in jail.
The official statement from the Diocese of Salina read, "The diocese is gathering additional information and will cooperate with law enforcement as appropriate. Out of respect for the integrity of the legal process, the Diocese has no further comment at this time."
