MANHATTAN - On Monday, March 6, 2023, officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested 43-year-old Giovanny Xavier Santiago Ayala, of Manhattan, for indecent solicitation of a child and breach of privacy.

The arrest comes after an investigation involving Ayala and two victims, known to him, 15- and 16-year old females.

Ayala was arrested and issued a total bond of $15,000. He is no longer confined to the Riley County Jail.

Due to the nature of the case, Riley County Police Department will not be releasing any further details.

RILEY COUNTY - On Thursday, March 2nd at just before 3:00 p.m., officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested a 34-year-old Manhattan man in connection with a <a href="https://littleapplepost.com/posts/05cf6117-fcf5-4aaa-81b0-938a7fcfd2b6">February 11th hit and run that injured a pedestrian.</a>

Kristopher Scott Mackey, 34 of Manhattan, was arrested on requested charges of&nbsp;Interference with LEO; Falsely report a felony, intending to obstruct; Interference with LEO; Conceal/alter/destroy evidence in felony case;&nbsp; and Failure to stop at accident; Result in great bodily harm.

On February 11th, RCPD officers were called to the 4700 block of Skyway Drive around 9:30 p.m. after a 30-year-old man was found on the side of the road with injuries consistent with being hit by a moving vehicle.

The victim was initially transported to Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan and was later taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of his injuries.

Mackey remains confined to the Riley County Jail in lieu of bond pending his first appearance in Riley County District Court.

MANHATTAN - Riley County Police Department, posted on social media on Thursday afternoon,&nbsp;about incidents occurring at schools in Manhattan on Thursday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., Riley County Police Department were called to Anthony Middle School on the report of a suspicious man walking inside the building during student arrival time.

School staff stopped the man, directed him to the office and asked him to leave the school. He initially refused to leave the building, but left before officers arrived.

Students were held in their classrooms until the situation was resolved.

RCPD located the man a short time later in the parking lot of University Christian Church, which operates a preschool. The man talked with officers while there, stating he was searching for his father.

RCPD states the man was respectful and cordial during the conversation.
