MANHATTAN - Riley County Police Department, posted on social media on Thursday afternoon,&nbsp;about incidents occurring at schools in Manhattan on Thursday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., Riley County Police Department were called to Anthony Middle School on the report of a suspicious man walking inside the building during student arrival time.

School staff stopped the man, directed him to the office and asked him to leave the school. He initially refused to leave the building, but left before officers arrived.

Students were held in their classrooms until the situation was resolved.

RCPD located the man a short time later in the parking lot of University Christian Church, which operates a preschool. The man talked with officers while there, stating he was searching for his father.

RCPD states the man was respectful and cordial during the conversation.

USD 383 Manhattan-Ogden superintendent requested for RCPD to trespass the man from all USD 383 properties and activities.

Around 9:30 a.m., RCPD were called to Amanda Arnold Elementary School, where staff reported the man was on school property. Officers arrived and arrested the man, identified as 22-year old Samuel Osenga, of Manhattan for criminal trespass.

At the time of his arrest, Osenga was not in possession of any weapons and RCPD states they have no reason to believe that Osenga had intentions of harming students at any school.

"We want to emphasize that if we believe there is a threat at any of our schools, we will respond as quickly as possible and parents will be notified. We continue to have a strong working relationship with all of our schools and their staff, and appreciate their cooperation in any investigations or incidents that occur. The safety of our community's children is and will remain a top priority at RCPD."

MANHATTAN - Around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13th, Riley County Police Officers responded to the 700 block of Humboldt on the report of an aggravated assault.

A 38-year-old man was identified as the victim after he reported a 14-year-old male pulled a knife on him during an argument between the two.

Riley County Police Department has not released any details about the suspect or if he has been taken into custody.

MANHATTAN - Around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14th, Riley County Police officers were called out to the 200 block of N. 9th Street in Manhattan on the report of battery.

A 24-year-old man reported a 40-year-old man had slapped him and bit him in the face before officers arrived.

When officers attempted to arrest the 40-year-old suspect, identified as Wendell Parrish of Manhattan, he resisted arrest by physically fighting the officers.

Parrish&nbsp;was arrested for battery, battery on LEO, and interference with LEO. He remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $7,000.

Riley County Arrest Report February 11

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY - On Tuesday, February 7th, 2023, the Pottawatomie County Dispatch received a 911 call around 12:43 pm reporting a structure fire in the 400 block of E. Plum Street, Louisville, Kansas.

Upon arrival crews discovered a mobile home with smoke coming from the inside.

A father and son exited the mobile home with minor injuries prior to emergency crews arriving on scene.

Sheriff's Deputies learned during the incident that a methamphetamine lab was inside the residence.

Deputies searched the residence, after executing a search warrant and the fire was extinguished.

As a result of the search warrant, two men were arrested and transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail.

Odis Leon Parker, 80, Louisville, was arrested on charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Criminal Use of Weapons, Possession of Paraphernalia with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, Possession of Stimulant, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. &nbsp;He is currently confined in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $10,000 bond

Odis Leon Parker Jr., 47, Louisville, was booked on charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia with Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, Arson; Accidental to Dwelling by Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, and Aggravated Battery. He is currently confined in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $10,000 bond&nbsp;&nbsp;The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the investigation by&nbsp;Pottawatomie County Consolidated Fire, Wamego Fire Department Pottawatomie County EMS, Kansas State Fire Marshal, Riley County Police Department, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
