KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating a fatal shooting in Kansas City have identified the victim as 37-year-old DeAnthony Guthrie.
Just after 5:30p.m. Sunday patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting in the parking lot of a convenience store at 35th and Cleveland, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.
First responders found Guthrie in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began performing life saving measures and ordered EMS.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino. This is being investigated as a homicide.
Detectives are woking to determine the events that led up to the shooting and interviewing witnesses. Police have not released any suspect details or reported an arrest.
