
KANSAS CITY—One person died in an accident just before noon Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri.
A preliminary investigation revealed, a beige Chevrolet Silverado was northbound on 71 Highway from Bannister Road, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Just west of the Rock Ridge Quarry, thep pickup left the roadway and entered the adjacent grassy median. As the driver was trying to regain control of his vehicle, the pickup traveled down a concrete embankment separating the opposite highways. The vehicle went airborne, struck the guardrail, flipped and rolled. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This marks fatality #18 compared to #12 at the same time last year, according to Becchina.
