BARBER COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 10a.m. Thursday in Barber County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Kenworth cement truck driven by Anthony R. Peek, 58, Medicine Lodge, was southbound on McAdoo Road two miles south of Elm Mills Road.

The truck's right front tire caught loose sand at the edge of the roadway as it crested a hill.

The vehicle was pulled closer to the ditch and the driver overcorrected. The truck entered the east ditch, rolled numerous times and came to rest on its wheels.

Peek was pronounced dead and was transported to Larrison Funeral Home in Medicine Lodge. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
