Dodge City college set to reopen after suspect in handcuffs fled police

FORD COUNTY —The Dodge City Community College campus, 2501 North 14th Avenue, Dodge City will reopen at 1p.m. after it was closed due to a potential security risk on Tuesday, according to a social media report from the school.

The school advised that this was not an active shooter situation as some rumors have indicated. 

The Dodge City Police Department was assisting security personnel at the College in locating a suspect who fled from security officers early Tuesday after being involved in a minor offense on campus.

The suspect was last seen in handcuffs fleeing the area on foot wearing a grey sweatshirt and no shoes. 

 The campus child development center is open with additional security.
