USD 383 monitors the status of COVID-19

Posted Nov 17, 2020 4:50 PM

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Marvin Wade, said Monday, that USD 383 continues to closely monitor district and community COVID-19 status. Updates will be provided to the Data Dashboard on their website every Wednesday afternoon.

As COVID incidence rates, positive test results and quarantines increase, so do concerns about USD 383's ability to maintain adequate instructional and support staff. Wade noted that if the district becomes unable to remain in Hybrid Learning patrons will be notified as quickly as possible of the need to transition to All Distance Learning. That would mean that all school buildings would be closed for student use and all athletics and non-virtual activities would immediately be paused.

Also, District families may still sign up for meals for the week of Nov. 23. All students and siblings signed up will be able to pick up five meals ( breakfasts and lunches ) on Monday, Nov. 23. Meals can be picked up at the Central Kitchen ( 112 Hayes Drive ) from 8 a.m. to noon.  Families can sign up at  www.mypaymentsplus.com/welcome.  Contact the Child Nutrition Office at 785-587-2851 if you need assistance signing up your child.
