SEDGWICK COUNTY —A woman injured in an accident that occurred just after 2 p.m. Friday August 21 in rural Sedgwick County has died.

According to Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department spokesman Branden Stitt, a Chevy Trailblazer driven by 25-year-old Brittany Gondoly of Sedgwick County was southbound on 279th Street West southwest of Andale. The driver failed to yield to a westbound Chevy Silverado at 53rd Street North.  The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Firefighters extricated Gondoly from the Trailblazer and EMS transported her to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.  EMS also transported the driver of the Silverado, a 20-year-old man, to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries. Gondoly died from her injuries Wednesday, according to Stitt.
