Blue Jays and Blue Aces meet Friday night in Junction City

Posted Nov 13, 2020 1:08 AM

Class 6A postseason playoff football action continues Friday night at Al Simpler Stadium when  the Junction City Blue Jays host the Wichita East Blue aces. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the radio broadcast begins on 107.9 FM and 1420 KJCK AM at 6:30 p.m.

Wichita East is known for a stellar defense. Blue Jay coach Randall Zimmerman said the Blue Aces create a lot of turnover. "They're very fast, they're big, they're strong. They give people a lot of trouble."

Junction City must come out and execute, and be patient, said Zimmerman. "Probably not going to get big plays over and over and over like we have in the last couple of weeks I guess."

The Blue Jays enter the contest 8-1 while Wichita East is 7-1 on the season.

In the remainder of the Class 6A playoffs Derby plays at Lawrence, Blue Valley North meets Shawnee Mission Northwest and Blue Valley meets Olathe North.
