PAWNEE COUNTY– Jeffrey Dorian, 59 of Larned, Kansas, made his formal First Appearance Friday in the custody of the Pawnee County Sheriff before Magistrate Judge Dale Snyder on a six (6) count Criminal Complaint, according to Pawnee County Attorney Doug McNett.

Dorian is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm; Criminal Threat; Criminal Threat designated as a domestic violence offense;  Battery; Possession of Marijuana; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a call to Larned Dispatch at approximately noon on May 13, 2026, reporting that Dorian had threatened two women with a firearm at a rural residence north of Larned earlier that morning, and they were concerned Dorian may harm himself.

Deputies from the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival, a detective made contact with Dorian and attempted to get him to leave his residence. After a brief struggle, Dorian was taken into custody at the scene without any further escalation. A search warrant was later executed at the residence.

Counsel was appointed to represent Dorian and a Preliminary Hearing was scheduled for May 28, 2026. Dorian is being held without bond in the Pawnee County Jail with No Bond.
