RICE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 6:30a.m. Friday in Rice County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Honda Element driven by Gabriel Herron, 26, Kansas City, Kansas was westbound on U.S. 56 near Just east of 28th Road.
The SUV traveled off the road the right and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle returned to the road, traveled back into the ditch and rolled. Herron was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Birzer Funeral home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
