Kan. babysitter jailed after child hospitalized with skull fracture

FORD COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a southwest Kansas woman for allegedly critically injuring a child in her care.

On November 18, police were dispatched to St. Catherine's Hospital in Garden City after report of a 4-year-old child suffering from a skull fracture, according to a media release.

Through investigation officers were told the child received the injuries while with her babysitter identified as 28-year-old Brianna Edwards of Dodge City.

Officers continued the investigation and later applied for an arrest warrant for Edwards.  On Wednesday, a judge issued the arrest warrant for Edwards with a $7,500 cash or surety bond. Police located Edwards and arrested her without further incident. 

She is being held on requested charges of aggravated child endangerment and aggravated battery.
