Witness IDs Kansas City man as suspect in woman's death

KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Nicolett Marshall in an Independence, Missouri apartment, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Bobby G. Peoples III, 29, faces charges of Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.

According to court records, on Nov. 16, police responded to a shooting call on at an apartment on Larkspur Lane. Officers found the victim, Nicolett Marshall, in the kitchen. She had been fatally wounded. The Medical Examiner confirmed she died as a result of the gunshot.

A witness at the scene identified the shooter. A vehicle at the scene of the homicide was connected to a woman with the defendant on the day of the murder. She was driving the vehicle during another incident that Independence police responded to. Prosecutors requested a $150,000 cash bond.
